How to Get Dog Hair Out of Your Car

How to Get Dog Hair Out of Your Car

Your dog is part of your family, providing joy and emotional support. Some owners love to take their dogs out on adventures to bond outside the home. However, cleaning your car or dog’s hair is tiresome and difficult. Here are some tips to keep your car free of dog hair.

Use A Rubber Glove

Put on a rubber kitchen glove and dampen it with water. Rub the interior of your car carefully in one direction. The hair should form in clumps that can be easily vacuumed or picked up. You can even spray water on the upholstery before sweeping the hair away with the gloves. The dog’s hair can be collected from your fingertips. A washcloth or a damp sponge are good alternatives for a glove.

Velcro Curlers

Self-sticking Velcro curlers are old school, but are effective in removing stray hair. You can use them just like you a lint brush. Run them along the seats to pick up dog hair. Unlike lint brushes, Velcro curlers do not have any adhesives. This means you can use the same curler multiple times without needing to replace it. Unfortunately, you will have to pull out all the hair before you can use it again.

Balloons

Balloons can attract hair and other small particles with static electricity. This is one of the simplest techniques to remove dog hair from fabric surfaces. Rub the balloon over the upholstery and watch the hair stick to the balloon. It is a little difficult to get the hair to stop clinging to the balloon, though. It’s easier to inflate a new balloon the next time you need to remove hair.

Fabric Softener

Fabric softeners have a unique ingredient that helps to loosen hair from your car’s upholstery. It makes removing those stubborn strands of hair from the carpets or car seats a breeze. Take a little fabric softener and mix it with water. Pour the mixture into a spray bottle and lightly mist the upholstery. Use a paper towel to wipe it down, and let the whole thing dry. After it’s all dry, use a vacuum to clean any leftover dog hair.

Packing Or Duct Tape

Any wide tape will work for this, but duct tapes are the strongest and most recommended. Wind duct tape around your hand with the sticky side facing outside. Dab your hand over areas with the most hair. The hair will stick to the tape, leaving the upholstery good as new.

Vacuum

When all else fails, it’s time to bring out the vacuum cleaner. Make sure you’re using the right one for the job. Find a pet hair attachment or a brush with rubber bristles. These extensions are better on pet hair than any normal brushes you might have. These use static electricity to attract hair like a magnet. If you can’t find a vacuum that works, take your car to a self-serve car wash and detailing center, which usually has these vacuums on hand.

Many people love traveling with pets. But dog hair makes your car smell and look dingy. These simple cleaning techniques can get the mess out of your car.
